Sweaty together

I am sure you have heard of the saying "couples that workout together stay together!" or " Opportunity to spend a lot of time together" It has become quite common these days for couples to workout together in the same gym. However, it is often a big challenge for couples to maintain a balance, both at home and out.

We in BMT are blessed to have a few of our very own experience with these few couples :

Danny and Fong Ghee. have been with a true inspiration to us, as they have covered many milestones together and we have watched them through it! Q: How do you feel working out with your wife? A: "I have been married for awhile now and with our busy schedule, going to the gym with her allows her to know where I am. During the sessions she sees me giving my best and that keeps me going throughout the whole session! at the same time she is doing it also, so we tease and motivate each other like that. I personally feel it is good that we are able to work together. It doesn’t feel right when she is not there reason being we do a lot together. I am very happy to know we have the same passion and we are happy doing it together “-Danny-

Samuel Lo and Melisa are special to BMT, at first it was sessions with Sam because Melisa works and is based in Perth, for the past 2 weeks Melisa have been back here in KL as she transits to her new Job and have been joining our sessions! Q: How do you feel being able to work out together?

A: "Much more fun and enjoyable", Sam also shares "Ultimately it motivates me to get it done, we now spend more time together". The couple agrees that working out together helps them set goals, Melisa added on that by saying " it helps build character, so seeing him working out, it's also the extra companionship i get here which I don't when I work out alone in Perth, and top it, the Fact they are doing it together, they are working out more frequently .

Niro and Pam are our latest addition to our Family, this lovely couple have given us an opportunity to walk with them as they look to start they fitness journey together. Q: How has your fitness journey been? A: it has been really good to us, having each other gives us the extra moral support during the workouts and we both are looking towards the same goal, Being unfit ourselves and now starting this together is something fresh to us, we now have a new topic to talk about after a long day of work, specifically if there is a pain one of us is not feeling after an intense session, besides the support Pam shared that "it has also helped us realize we can communicate better despite our busy schedule from day to day and is more meaning to have him be accountable and likewise to back to him"

This is our take away for you

''Couples that Workout Together Stay Together'':

There are many experts who believe that great career success comes at the cost of your relationship or personal life.

But few relationship counselors do not agree to it and say it does not happen to everybody.

Dr. Michael McNulty, a master trainer from The Gottman Institute and founder of the Chicago Relationship Center, tells Business Insider that “maintaining a marital friendship, romance, and intimacy, managing ongoing conflict that is inevitable in marriage, and creating and maintaining a meaningful relationship is more challenging for partners with successful careers because they have less time to do so.”

When both partners have a strong commitment to a relationship, this leads to a strong sense of trust, which makes love last,” McNulty explains.

Be it working out together or having any other hobby together, here are a few tips that most of successful couples follow to keep their relationships strong:

Prioritize to spend time together no matter what

Spend time doing something good

Listen and communicate

Open up yourself to each other

Appreciate when you got a chance

Agree on important issues

Commit to each other

Always keep family before everything
